Accommodation and Facilities
The school has been in its present building since 1973 and is semi open plan in design. There is a Reception Unit, three Year 1 and three Year 2 class bases, which open out into three shared dual purpose areas. There are cloakroom and toilet facilities in every classroom. The school has a new well resourced library, a disabled toilet and a lift for wheelchair access to all areas of the school. The large hall is well equipped with PE apparatus and there are separate administrative areas.
The Infant School enjoys a very pleasant outlook with two hard surface playgrounds and is surrounded by an environmental area with a pond, playhouse, shed, a small surface play area, a trim trail and a developing reception year outdoor curriculum area. A grassed area overlooks the Junior School playing fields and the Weald Community School.
The School Day
The school fulfils the minimum of 21 hours of teaching per week, excluding the daily Act of Worship, registration, lunch and breaks. The school gates are opened at 8:40am and children will be supervised in the playground until they start school at 8:55am. Punctuality is considered very important. Pupils are expected to be in school on time and parents are asked to support this. |
